PETER S. ADLER, PhD

Peter Adler is a GUILD Consulting partner and the former President and CEO of The Keystone Center). He helps enterprises in the private, public, and civic sectors achieve strategy, alignment, and operational excellence.

Peter has extensive national and international experience and writes, trains, and teaches in areas of leadership, governance, and managing complexity. A former Peace Corps Volunteer and Outward Bound leader, he has held executive positions with the Hawai‘i Supreme Court, Hawai‘i Justice Foundation, and the Neighborhood Justice Center and served as President of the Society of Professionals in Dispute Resolution.

He has authored five books, including Calming the Storm: A Leader’s Handbook on Managing Unproductive Conflicts, forthcoming from Rowman & Littlefield in November, 2024.

Certified in mediation, arbitration,  facilitation, and formal hearing procedures.

Foresight

Forecasting, estimating, and comparative scenario development.

Strategy

Multi-year planning, both for adjustments for the future, as well as for crisis and serious "soul search," always with an emphasis on prioritization and achieving alignment.

Coaching

Advising leaders,departments, groups and special task force teams to plan and execute difficult assignments.

Training and Education

Workshops, seminars, and presentations on topics as above, with a focus on negotiation and multi-party problem-solving.
